Christian service is not optional. Every Christian person is called to glorify Christ by impacting people through some sort of ministry. Having a ministry is one of the conditions of membership at The Covenant Community.
We believe that regardless of race, gender, age, and economic status, Christians are called to serve.
Although we endorse and practice new and creative ministries, all of our ministries fall under one of five catagories.
Service evangelism is the ministry of giving away free stuff as a way of represting God's love.
Relational discipleship is a way of learning the apply the Bible with friends.
Genunine community is giving effort towards cultivating relationships among TCC members.
God centered worship is the ministry of celebrating God together; through singing, reading, and/or sharing.
Forceful prayer is the foundation of all the above ministries. Without people praying we wouldn't be ready for what God wants to do through us.
Each of these ministries are so valuable, and all of them are practiced by The Covenant Community.

Service Evangelism
One of the ways The Covenant Community aims to glorify Christ by impacting people is through service.

We believe one of the simpliest yet powerful ways to demonstrate God's love is to give something away. On Saturdays we give free donuts at garages sales. In September we are helping build a house with Habitat for Humanity. On SFA move in day we help carry bags and furniture as well as give away free pizzas and drinks. You can find us giving away disks on campus sometimes as well.

We really mean it when we say, "let us know if we can serve you." If you let us know we will do all in our power to help.
Relational Discipleship
Discipleship isn't a test of how much you know about Christ. Discipleship is about knowing Christ well. It is about obedience more than information. It is something that only happens within the context of a relationship.

TCC aims to glorify Christ and impact people through relational discipleship. These discipleship groups are called LIFE groups. LIFE groups can meet in dorm rooms, cafes, homes, even disc golf courses (a guys LIFE group meets at one)!

The idea is to motivate others to practice the commandments and principles of the Bible.

TCC's strategy for LIFE groups is model, assist, watch, and leave. That is, the leader of the group does less and less as the group begins to contain and motivate itself. Pretty soon the leader, or another member of the group, leaves to start another LIFE group.

Prayer
Talking to God is more important than talking to people. That's why TCC values and practices prayer and worship. That's why we first aim to glorify God and then aim to impact people.

Each Saturday night TCC worships on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University. Our worship contains scripture reading, a sermon, but mostly prayer.

We pray through singing and through talking. We pray prayers that say thanks and prayers that ask why.

"Prayer is the soul's way of breathing." LMP
